Kebab and Wine, Wine and Kebab
CESOIR is out. And obviously, we had to celebrate my girl SE.V.EN, aka @UrLuckyNumber
Thursday was release day, 22.10.26, so we went to Solaya for a little celebration dinner. Somewhere between the music and the wine, I decided it was time to teach this woman how to do halay at a restaurant on the 25th floor.
The power of late wine, I guess.
She loves Türkiye. That’s the story I’m trying to tell here, not just an excuse for my behaviour.
I’m not sure I was the best teacher, but we had our cute little moment. We were there celebrating HER day, her music, her new baby finally being out in the world. So, let’s halay!
And let me tell you something: CESOIR is your weekend soundtrack.
Getting dolled up, putting on that slutty little outfit, shaking ass in front of the mirror like you KNOW you’re the hottest girl in the room… looking TOO good for your date. You know the feeling.
Sexy vibe: 0 → 100. No apologies. No, no, NO.
And then Sunday happened.
SE.V.EN’s photographer cancelled at the last minute, and she asked if I could do the shoot.
And we did it.
Not just because she’s one of my bestiii, but also because it was a great chance for me to explore photography further. After putting up OPKD posters around Brick Lane on Sunday morning, I headed to Alexia’s studio in Stokey that afternoon.
First, a massive thank you to Alexia, whose expertise absolutely saved my ass. She helped me understand so much about the studio, lighting and camera settings.
I’m used to shooting nightlife with Canon EOS cameras, but this time I was working with a Nikon D5300 and a Sigma 17–50mm f/2.8 lens.
SE.V.EN came prepared with the most incredible McQueen boots, a Diva Burberry raincoat, beautiful lingerie, a bodysuit and four more gorgeous looks packed into her luggage.
And the gods created woman.
We found our rhythm, figured out our balance, and created some genuinely beautiful editorial shots in just two to three hours.
Her big, beautiful smile could fill the whole room on its own. I always tell her she has the kind of smile that makes everyone else smile, too.
I can’t wait to work on the photos and share them with you but it will take time.
And after the shoot? Obviously, we celebrated again.
Adana Ocakbaşı in Dalston. Şaka yapmıyorum: şiş kebap and red wine.
SE.V.EN’s comfort food is kebab. This genuinely surprised me, but it’s true. Love that!
I originally wanted to take her to Cirrik, one of my favourite Turkish restaurants. But that night, the vibe wasn’t quite right, so SHE took me to Adana Ocakbaşı, just around the corner from where she used to live.
Honestly, what a way to finish the Sunday.
From celebrating a music release to shooting an editorial at the last minute, then sitting down for kebab and wine these are the moments that make the work feel like so much more than just work.
It’s because, you know… #WineAndKebap :) Love that
It’s the people, the trust, the spontaneous plans and the things you create together when you decide to just go for it.
Dare to do it. Do it to dare.
Hazal x
